Why it's cheaper
Shared work costs less.
UpRock is a decentralized task network: jobs are split across thousands of Rockets instead of a data center, and every video one Rocket indexes goes into a public index every agent can search. Nobody pays to fetch or watch the same thing twice. And no single company can switch it off. The engine is open source, so anyone can check exactly what a Rocket does.

FAQ
Do I get anything on day one?
Yes: a sign-up bonus of 1,000 credits, paid out over your first 10 days running the npm daemon. One per account. The bonus is for the npm daemon only.
What is UPT for?
Paying for UpRock at the lowest price: everything is 20% cheaper in UPT, crawling at $0.40 per 1,000 pages instead of $0.50. Your Rocket earns it for the tasks it completes.
Desktop app or npm?
Same network, same account. The UpRock Mining App has a window and an earnings dashboard. The npm package is headless: terminal only, for servers, developers and agents, and it also gives you the uprock ai crawl and research commands.
How do I stop it?
Quit the app. For npm: uprock daemon stop, or uprock daemon uninstall to remove the background service.
Is it safe?
Your Rocket runs only tasks signed by UpRock, in a sandbox that can't reach your local network through its sockets. The write-up lists what it doesn't enforce yet.
